In a way, this outfit post — my very first — has been in the works since December 2012, around Christmas time.
For the holiday — from my boyfriend — I received the most AMAZING present I possibly could have hoped to receive for Christmas. It was a pair of tickets for the P!nk concert in Orlando, Fla.
(If you ever have the chance to see P!nk in concert, do not miss it under circumstance. The entire night was akin to watching a Cirque Du Soleil show paired with P!nk’s amazing vocals. She literally soared through the air while singing — I am still in shock.)
The concert was a few weeks ago now, but while I was there I decided to pick up a concert tee to help remember the spectacular evening.
From the minute that I bought the shirt, I was thinking about how I would wear it for the first time.
I knew I wanted the outfit to be more than a typical T-shirt and jean combination — which in general is not my favorite.
As the shirt is mostly white with black writing, my first step was to add more color. The colored jeans, which I am wearing in the pictures, are an old pair from American Eagle that are no longer available. However, I have found two very similar pairs — Pacsun Bullhead Black Ankle Skinniest Jeans for $49.50 and the 1969 always skinny skimmer jeans from Gap, which are on sale for $39.99.
When I bought my first pair of colored jeans, I was unsure that I would actually like the look. However, after owning a colored pair, I fell completely in love. Every day, I find a new way to style the jeans, and a mint color like this is a great addition to any wardrobe, especially considering the pastel trend this spring.
Next, I decided to incorporate one of my favorite new additions to my wardrobe, a DKNY chambray shirt. As I bought this shirt from T.J.Maxx, I wasn’t able to find the exact shirt to link. Two similar shirts are the 1969 chambray two-pocket shirt from Gap and 1969 chambray boyfriend shirt also from Gap.
After having bought a chambray shirt, I do not know how I went for so long without buying one. It is easily the most versatile piece of clothing in my entire wardrobe.
In order to clean up the look — as the concert T-shirt is a bit big on me — I found that the best way to wear the outfit was to tuck in both the concert tee and the partially-buttoned chambray shirt into the pants. This allows for the T-shirt to still be seen, but I don’t look as if I am overwhelmed by it’s large size.
As a result, I found an outfit that I am completely in love with!
P.S. I don’t believe the boy knew exactly how much I was going to enjoy the concert until we were actually there. At almost every single song, I was ecstatically claiming each as my favorite.
Also, I am very excited for this to be my first outfit post! Hope you all enjoy!
