Panama Hats Fashion Spotlight: Panama Hats

1. Target ($12.74) 2. J.Crew ($58) 3.Anthropologie ($38)

Most of the time I avoid wearing hats. In general I don’t really like the look of them.

However, I think I have finally found a hat style that is making me change my stance.

Lately, the weather in Florida has quickly changed from cold to extremely warm. For the most part, I like the change, but one downside is that I am fair skinned. This means that every time the sun is out, I can feel the burn on my skin. Once I mentioned my problem to my mom, she suggested I look into buying a hat — as well as some sunscreen.

Meanwhile, on a few of the blogs that I follow — Poor Little It Girl and Sir Paul and Company (to name two) — I have been seeing the panama hat all over their posts.

After considering what my mom said and seeing the many different ways the panama hat can be styled, I found myself wanting one of my own.

While looking around online, I found a few viable options.

The first is actually a Men’s Panama Hat from Target.ย While this generally wouldn’t be my first choice — considering it is supposedly for men — the price ($12.74) is low enough for me to inquire more.

Second is the ever-classy Panama Hat from J.Crew.

The third hat, while not classified exactly as a panama hat, was cute enough to be included. It is the Monforte Hat by Anthropologie. While the other two have a white/off-white base with a black accent, the Monforte Hat is yellow with a white band.

Despite the slight differences these hats can be styled in a multitude of ways. One of my favorite looks with a panama hat is to pair it with a spring dress and a cute pair of flats.
