There is one song that every time I hear it, I am transported back in time to a simple memory of driving around town with my dad as it plays on the radio. At the time, I had to have been about two or three, but when ever I hear it I think of that moment.
The song is Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle.
It always makes me realize how fast time truly passes. It seems like just yesterday I was in that car. But, in reality, the song has now been out for 16 years, and I have moved away to school. The years have past, and I have grown, but I know that part of me will always be that little girl listening along with her daddy.
So today, as I spend the day at home with my family, I want to take a moment to wish everyone a happy father’s day, especially my dad.
Thank you for your support throughout the years, for attempting to be my coach when we all know I have zero athletic ability, for always encouraging me to strive for the best, but mostly just thank you for being my dad.
I love you, and “I’ll always remember … butterfly kisses.”
I hope everyone is having a happy father’s day with their families.
